I was an average kid.
I grew up in a small district in Northern Clarendon. From what I can remember, those were great days! Although my background was poor, it wasn’t stressing at all. Put it this way – we made great use of the little we had.
I was not interested in success!
I had zero ambitions. But everything changed when I came back from Curacao in 2010. My mindset started to develop. My BIGGEST FEAR at the time was to remain in the same financial position with no progress 10 years later. This might sound a little crazy but bear with me, I had a habit of always daydreaming. Yo, I would go hours just sitting by myself and imagining what life would be like if I had way more money.
These were a few thoughts that ran through my mind as a 15 y/o:
- “How would I provide for my family, but still have enough money left over to do the things I enjoy doing?”
- “If I had an extra million dollar in the bank, how would my current life be different?”
- “What separates to wealthy from the poor?”
I wanted to smash all these goals by time I turned 21.
I started exploring different ways of making money online.
By the time I was 17, I realized that traditional beliefs and being average wasn’t gonna cut it for me.
My money making journey started with mobile app development, then I STARTED SHOPIFY. Although I failed at Shopify, what I learnt the most was the power of trial and error. There is a certain advantage you can have just be being resilient.
I STARTED FOREX IN 2018
Through Shopify, I met a friend who introduced me to Forex. Like many of y’all, I started off with IML which was the STUPIDEST thing I did. I started Forex with $200 in my account which I eventually blew.
OMG from thereon it was by far the most difficult time of my life. The Markets were like strange beasts, eating out every dollar in my account. No matter how much I tried, no matter the amount of adjustments I was making – I kept losing money time and time again. I literally started thinking forex was a scam. I couldn’t see how it was possible for someone to consistently make money from the markets.
But I kept the faith
I had no alternative in mind, there was no plan B. So Forex just had to work. Even though I was struggling, I developed a passion for trading and that also kept me going. MY BIGGEST MISTAKE was to not get help when I needed it. Had I gotten a mentor from back then, it would have taken me 3 months or so to master it, instead of 2 YEARS.
